How to Preserve Flowers from Special Occasions
Many special occasions come with flowers, and preserving those flowers is a wonderful way to have a memento of that special day. Keep in mind that these flowers will not last too long on their own; the earlier they are preserved, the longer they will look timeless. There are two very simple and basic ways to dry flowers. The first is to hang the flower(s) upside down. You will need to dry them in a place with little moisture and light to get the maximum beauty preserved within your flowers. Also, dried flowers are very fragile, so to prevent damage we recommend placing them in a case or shadowbox. Another great technique for preserving a flower is to press itâ”but keep in mind that the end product will be flat. If the flower is small and thin, the process will be easy; if the flower is bigger or has a distinct shape (such as a tulip or daffodil), it may be easier to just press the petals.

Many of these decorations work for the rest of the winter as well; just make sure these decorations have the right feel for January and February as well as December.
