If you are planning on decorating with silk (or fake) plants, there are a couple of rules that you need to follow to ensure longevity. The majority of artificial plants, regardless of the material they are made will, will fade if constantly exposed to the sun. However, as long as you occasionally rotate the placement of the plants, some exposure to sunlight is nothing to worry about. Another step you will want to take is to dust your plants on a regular basisâ”too much dust causes flowers and plants to lose color. Most silk flowers are fragile, so if you have an arrangement please keep it out of reach of small children to protect both the child and the flower. You can contact the manufacturer for information about repairs if any damage to your greenery does occur. Most repairs can be made with a hot glue gun. If the damage is more substantial, wrap, tighten, and seal repairs with wire.

The definition of a topiary is a plant that is trimmed in a fashion not ordinarily appearing to be a plant. Most often the plants used for topiary purposes are extremely dense. These topiaries come in every shape and sizes ranging from elephants, squirrels and people to elaborate designs, mazes, and even tunnels. Though real topiaries are often enormous in scale, there are many, many designs available with smaller silk plants. One place you can often find silk topiaries are in office buildings, places of worship, and larger public gathering places. The most common design for the silk topiary is the spiral. This is due to the small offices and spaces that these topiaries are required to fill.

The need to decorate the interior of your home often hits even when you have little ones to raise. This at times can seem to be counter productive as children, especially very young kids, have a way of distracting from the natural flow of completing dcor projects.
