It is stated that cleanliness is next to godliness. The goal of interior decorating is to have your home looking as aesthetically pleasing as possible. Time, however, is usually not on anyoneâs side when it comes to having a pretty and fresh-looking home. If you are like me, half the battle in your home is just keeping it tidy and organized, let alone getting around to the next interior design project. We can improve the look of our home by creating a schedule of all the periodic tasks one needs to do to keep the house clean (such as cleaning blinds, washing bedding, or dusting picture frames). This way, you can spend just a little time each month doing some of these jobs rather than being stuck several times a year doing them all day long. Another time-saving strategy is to make sure the rest of the family is helping you! Not only is it their responsibility, too; having everyone help frees a lot of your time and makes you a lot more fun to be around. Third, as you clean and organize, place labels on containers and shelves so you know where everything has been placed and where everything is supposed to be.
Having Fun with Interior Design
One of the joys of interior decoration is the ability to take an ordinary-looking space and transform it into something beautiful. Interior decorating is special, because you get to interact every day with your masterpieces. You are not just producing something that looks nice; you are also concerned with practicality and usefulness. Often, flawless interior decorating is like make-up: the less you notice it, the better you did your job! A well-decorated house allows its occupants and guests to feel comfortable, inspired, and serene. Decorating for the Winter Season
Like each other season, winter can be a beautiful season to decorate for. When designing with winter dcor, remember the climate changes that are taking place and how those climate changes are affecting plants and greenery. The most basic elements that exist in winter decor, or winter decorations, are pine trees, firs, branches of trees, or very unique flowers that thrive on a winter environment. Inevitably your winter decorations will involve Christmas colors and elements, including wreaths and garlands. Many of these decorations work for the rest of the winter as well; just make sure these decorations have the right feel for January and February as well as December.
To Buy or to Rearrange? That is the Question
Every time I find myself in a craft store poring over the new selections, I begin again to think that if only I had this item or that decorative craft, then my house would look perfect. However, the item I buy does not always have the desired effectâ”with my dcor and with my bank account. The sad truth of the matter is that when I finally do succumb, my new treasure of a purchase all too often appears as clutter and ends up at my next yard sale. Instead of the constant looking and searching for new items, I have found that rearranging what I already have is a great solution for home dcor. Sometimes I do something drastic (rearrange an entire room), and sometimes the change is more subtle (swapping this picture for that painting), but it still gives me the feeling of having a nice change in the house. It is the best of both worlds: I get the experience of interior decorating, and my bank account balance doesnât go down a penny!
