Take a look at your seasonal crafts, and see if you can change or add to them to fit a different time of year. For instance, you can reuse the same wreath over and over by taking out old flowers and substituting new ones.

Every time I find myself in a craft store poring over the new selections, I begin again to think that if only I had this item or that decorative craft, then my house would look perfect. Unfortunately, this is not great for my wallet or my house! The sad truth of the matter is that when I finally do succumb, my new treasure of a purchase all too often appears as clutter and ends up at my next yard sale. Instead of the constant looking and searching for new items, I have found that rearranging what I already have is a great solution for home dcor. Sometimes I do something drastic (rearrange an entire room), and sometimes the change is more subtle (swapping this picture for that painting), but it still gives me the feeling of having a nice change in the house. This way, I am expanding my artistic ability and sparing my wallet!

One of the first questions that you must resolve when decorating with plants is whether you want them to be real or artificial. There are some great pros and cons to each option. When considering real plants, you want to make sure that the plant can get sunlight and water. Real plants naturally attract insects, which could be a problem where you are living. However, there is a degree of fulfillment you get when caring for living things that you cannot have with artificial ones. Some benefits to artificial plants include the ease of storage, maintenance, and transport. The biggest factor to look at is how âlife-likeâ it appears. Artificial plants can be beautiful, but if it is obvious that they are not real, they lose some of their charm. The âclearly fakeâ look can be quite unattractive.
