my orchid is having a rest after producing lots of beautiful flowers but is it dying?

i trimmed the stalks as directed but is it normal that they have gone brown and hollow and all but 2 of the leaves have fallen off? i feed it regularly with orchid food i just hope i haven’t killed it!!!

Hi, I manage a nursery and I have myself some orchids. This is completely normal. Your plant needs time to rejuvinate so it can produce more flowers next time. They do usually look like they are dead or almost dead so don’t worry about it. It may take a few months to grow some new leaves and up to a year before it will flower again. Hope this has helped.
