No matter how modern our society has become, people still believe in old practices and the words of the elderly. Medical practices like homeopathy, naturopathy, Ayurveda, aromatherapy are making a comeback and age old medical practices are being renewed. One such practice is the use of Flower essences for man and animal alike.Flower essences are, as the name states, essences of flowers. These are potions of flowers in water mixed with brandy andare made from a variety of flowers like roses, orchids and such and can contain single or multiple flowers. These essences do not have any odor and are without any sort scent or perfumes, unlike essential oils, that have their own scents. It also must be remembered that a flower essence is a much diluted preparation and unlike an essential oil or an herbal tincture, embodies the basic energetic pattern of the flower itself, which is what is used in healing the human or the animal.In the traditional holistic healing books, flower essence therapy is classed under vibrational medicine, which is that branch of medicine that uses the chi energies within living organisms, such as plants gemstones, sunlight and even the foods we eat, to heal other living organisms.This flower essence therapy was founded by an English surgeon by the name of Dr. Edward Bach. Dr. Back had done deep research and understood the connection of our emotional bodies to our physical health. Dr. Bach pioneered 38 original flower remedies, known as Bach Healing Herbsand Bach flowers that were, and are till today, used to treat the underlying emotional causes of diseases.Flower essences are generally quite effective and easy to use. People who use these essences generally find them very safe and call them flower drops. Although already diluted, these flower essences can be further diluted or can be taken directly from the bottle. To use, a few drops are put under the tongue and allowed to melt away, similar to taking homeopathic tablets. Alternatively, couples of drops of the essence are mixed into a litre of water, which is sipped throughout the day. Special combinations of these essences are also available and single bottles can last 10 â 14 days!Unfortunately the medical community is not convinced that this essence therapy actually works. More so, because science is based on established facts and figures that can be measures and admittedly, vibrational energy is very difficult to measure by scientific means. Yet, for those who believe in it, the therapy works wonders.It is all a matter of belief.
