One simple way to efficiently keep your house clean is to put a list of chores together that includes tasks needing to be done a few times a year. Then, rather than having to dedicate a whole day or week to these chores, take twenty or thirty minutes a couple days each month and take care of them. Another time-saving strategy is to make sure the rest of the family is helping you! Not only is it their responsibility, too; having everyone help frees a lot of your time and makes you a lot more fun to be around. One more tip is to use labels wherever it is convenient. Knowing where everything is, or goes, not only keeps things organized longer, it also keeps you from wasting time looking for things.
Steps to Building a Wreath
A simple but beautiful way to decorate your porch is to add a wreath to your door. There are many ways to be creative when you make a wreath: the combinations of colors, shapes, and themes or styles lead to endless possibilities. For a simple wreath start with any desired foam ring and silk flowers; these can usually be obtained at a local craft store. Using some heavy-duty scissors, cut the stems of your flowers, leaving about an inch of stem below the flower. Insert the flowers one at a time into the foam ring. Strategically place them so that they are close enough to cover up the foam, but not so close that they look bunched or crushed. As you add the flowers, it is a good idea to dot them with a little glue from a hot glue gun at the point where the stem comes out of the foam. Adding leaves or vines to your wreath works well for extra decoration or for covering up bare spots. You can theme your wreath to the time of year, or use regional flowers for a more local look. To finish, tie a string around your wreath and hang it on a small nail in your front door.
Customizing Your Flower Designs
A flower arrangement that fits its surroundings is one of the basic goals of flower arranging. Flower arrangements should be designed based on their purpose. For example, when you are designing an arrangement for a funeral, there are some flowers that are natural choices because of their look and meaning, such as tulips and daisies in gentle colors. Silk grasses, unusual and bright flowers, and topiary designs are great if the arrangement is meant to be a housewarming gift or a âget better soonâ arrangement. If you would like something more traditional or amorous, roses are a natural choice. For the perfect flower arrangement, always remember who the flower arrangement is for. If you are aware of their favorite or least favorite flowers, colors, and overall styles, incorporate the ones they like best into your design. If it doesnât look right the first time, just try again. It is especially easy if you are using silk flowers, since you can mix and match all you want without damaging the flowers.
Decorating with Palm Trees
The phrase âartificial treeâ most frequently conjures up the image of a pine tree. If there was one example to break the mold of this silk tree pattern, it would be the palm tree. One reason is that their natural habitats are distinctly different. The pine tree is of a wintry climate and is a hearty tree; the palm tree is a very tropical species. There is actually a wide variety of palm trees, and many of these varieties are available as artificial plants as well.
