Educative Session: Ferns And Then Some by Misha Vasser
If you would like to add some artificial trees or plants to your home, you can do so in one of two ways. Many people find their favorite plant, purchase it, and then rearrange the set âup of the room in a way that flatters and provides space for the plant. A different way to go about the process is to make sure your home is designed as you like it, choose areas to add plants or trees, and then shop for something that would fit the areas you have designated. Ferns are a great way to add nature into a room without taking too much space. Ferns are great in tight spaces because their leaves are quite narrow and grow into whatever area that you please. There is a wide variety of live and artificial ferns. A great benefit of live ferns is that they are hardy and will do well in a variety of settings. Even more easy to maintain and care for are silk plants. Be aware that when you choose a fern, you are not selecting a very colorful or eye-catching plant, though it still makes a lovely accent. Using a flower display in tandem with a few ferns can have a very attractive effect.
Preparing for Your First Interior Design Project
At one time or another, almost everyone feels the need to try their hand at interior decorating. If you have been affected with the interior design bug, we have a couple suggestions to get to know your favorite styles a little better. There are many places you can look to get a basic understanding of fundamental principles and practices, such as blogs, forums, and resources at the library and at home improvement stores. You would be surprised at how many simple, quick, and easy interior design tips you can apply to make your house look twice as good. Magazines like Better Homes & Gardens or Home and Design, or catalogs for furniture and home decoration stores, are great places to turn to for ideas on the overall âlookâ you may use. As you read and view materials on interior designing, you will get a better idea of what does and does not work for you. Next is to choose your first project and run with it. Remember, it is more important that you have the experience than a perfect product on the first try. After all, experience will teach you more than all the research you can do.
Bonsai Trees
Using bonsai trees as dcor began in Japan The Japanese so adored trees and their splendor that they began to showcase smaller trees inside their houses, and the tree chosen was frequently a bonsai tree. Now that tree is used as a decoration in many places, and there are many different styles to choose from. As you choose a bonsai tree for your own home or office, make sure you are aware of how much space you have available. You will need to have enough room for the pot to fit horizontally and the tree to fit verticallyâ”and keep in mind that if the plant is real, it may continue to grow! As a helpful hint, make sure that you are treating yourself to a specialty pot or container. A pot or container is not just a holder for your plant, but should also enhance the beauty of your displayed greenery.
Plants as Interior Dcor
One of the best things to remember when you’re designing for home silk plants is the size of the plant. 24-36 inches is the perfect height for plants that will be placed on tabletops. You probably want something with wider leaves to attract the eye and the attention of the visitor. However, choose taller, slimmer plants with long leaves when placing greenery in a corner. It just goes to show that good planning is the secret to a well decorated home. If you want a fresh look without the hassle and maintenance of real plants, choose a high-quality silk plant. They last much longer, they arenât appealing to insects, and they are easy to take care of.
Looking to add a little beauty to your home or office? SilkGardenOnline.com showcases a huge variety of silk flowers such as silk roses, orchids, tulips and more; along with other silk greenery, including trees, plants, and topiary designs.
