Keeping your Dcor (Relatively) Simple

Home decor can be a lot of different things to a lot of different people. One thing that it should never be is dysfunctional. It can be easy to get carried away, but often the result is opposite of what is intended. There are those who decorate so enthusiastically that there is hardly enough space to stand up or sit down. Others have so many off-season dcor items in their garage that they cannot even park their car. In order to avoid some dysfunctional methods when designing for your home, first consider the purpose of the room that you would like to decorate. Kitchen counter space, for instance, most often needs to be used for cooking, and decorative pieces should be kept at a minimum. Bedrooms, by contrast, are a great place to add flourishes and accents, since it is mainly a room for resting and for storing personal times. A good rule of thumb is if you need to move a decorative piece out of the way more than twice a week, it probably should be thrown out or exchanged for a more functional item.

Silk Tulips

The tulip is a big favorite among the categories of silk flowers. Tulips’ classic look and tall, thin stems with long delicate leaves make them readily identifiable. Because of their versatility, tulips can be used as decorations in a myriad of ways. They are dissimilar to many other popular flowers in that they do not have any sort of stigma that consigns them to a certain holiday or time of year. Another immensely popular flower, the rose, is one type of flower that has a lot of stereotypical meanings attached, limiting it in ways that the tulip is not limited. Because of their long slender design, tulips require very little space to occupy and to beautify. Tulips arrangement placement within a home can be very flexible as they work very well as backgrounds for more elaborate flowers, or can stand alone if desired.

Silk Palm Trees

Often the only tree that comes to people’s minds when they hear â€artificial tree†is the Christmas tree. Few would think of the palm tree as a choice in artificial trees. One reason is that their natural habitats are distinctly different. The pine tree is of a wintry climate and is a hearty tree; the palm tree is a very tropical species. There is actually a wide variety of palm trees, and many of these varieties are available as artificial plants as well. Tall, tropical palm trees (like what you would expect to find on the beach) are the most sought after style. Make sure you are aware of how wide the tree is before you settle on a certain tree. It wouldn’t do to have your palm tree arrive and not have enough room for it! Palm trees often look nice in offices, bedrooms, and kitchen areas if there is sufficient space.

Silk Garden Online.com offers a great selection of silk flowers. Including flower arrangements, silk roses, tulips, orchids, and more.
