Topiary Plants
The topiary field is an example of horticultural artwork: topiary plants are trimmed and shaped into specialized figures and designs. Some plants that work well for creating topiary designs are hedges (a more western choice) and bonsai tries (commonly used in the east). There is almost no end to what can be created: people and animals, geometric shapes, and detailed landscapes and mazes are all common choices. Many people who love topiaries but do not have a place to display a 20-foot shrub choose to decorate their houses with much smaller silk topiaries. You have probably seen silk topiaries before in the workplace or in churches and other public buildings. The most common design for the silk topiary is the spiral. This is due to the small offices and spaces that these topiaries are required to fill.
Decorating with Silk Grasses
One less well known but interesting and attractive way to decorate your house is to use arrangements with artificial grass. This decoration tool will work especially well for you if you live on a ranch, in the West, or in a desert-like environment. Grass arrangements are typically smaller than plants and can be compared to silk flower arrangements. Not only do silk grasses work well on their own, they also make great ornaments for bigger plants and trees. Silk grass works very well with water fountains or in windowsills. Decorating with Ferns
When incorporating plants and other greenery into your home, there are two ways to go about the process. A different way to go about the process is to make sure your home is designed as you like it, choose areas to add plants or trees, and then shop for something that would fit the areas you have designated. The nature of the fern makes it a natural choice for smaller areas due to its fine, tiny leafage and ability to fill the space it is given as it matures. You can find a great selection of ferns, both real and silk. Ferns are pretty resilient, and are fairly easy to care for and maintain. Even more easy to maintain and care for are silk plants. Ferns work better as âbackgroundâ plants than centerpieces, but still ad a nice touch. Using a flower display in tandem with a few ferns can have a very attractive effect.

Most people, when they think of artificial trees, think of a pine tree or Christmas tree. Few would think of the palm tree as a choice in artificial trees. These two tree types are extremely different, not only in local environment but also in appearance. There is actually a wide variety of palm trees, and many of these varieties are available as artificial plants as well. Of course, the most popular variety is the stereotypical palm tree (some even come with coconuts!). When designing or planning to put a palm tree in your home, it is important to note the circumference of the leaves. Most people are surprised to find out how large the palm trees circumference is, and may have to rearrange the room to provide enough space for it. Smaller palm trees are usually sufficient when decorating inside the home.
