Storing your Silk Wreaths
A simple but festive way to prepare your home for holidays and special occasions is to hang a wreath on your door. Since there are so many fun and pretty wreaths for so many occasions, those who try to keep their home decorated for the seasons may be frustrated with where to keep all of their wreaths!There are several efficient, organized ways to keep your wreaths stored until you need them. You can cut down on your storage needs by ârecyclingâ your wreaths. You can do so by having only one wreath and changing or rotating the decorations you display on it. You will need to sure that the base is a good sturdy one. You can attach your flowers or other designs to the wreath using a small amount of glue, a large amount of tape, or a weaving pattern that holds everything together. Now you do not have to ever worry about storing the large, bulky, often awkwardly shaped wreath ring. All of your decorative pieces can be kept in a single box, and often you can keep them organized in the pattern or design you like for them. However, if you do prefer having wreaths ready-to-hang, plastic containers or a hanging shelf works well. Make sure you do choose a storage method that does not flatten your flowers.
A Real Plant or an Artificial One? That is the Question
One of the first questions that you must resolve when decorating with plants is whether you want them to be real or artificial. There are some great pros and cons to each option. When considering real plants, you want to make sure that the plant can get sunlight and water. If there are a lot of insects where you live, real plants and flowers may not be a good idea, because critters often make their homes there. An advantage to live plants is the green thumb you develop as you care for them and watch them grow. If you are planning to change your greenery based on the seasons, if you like to move furniture and decorations around a lot, or if you yourself may be moving at some point, you will find it easy to store and move silk plants. If you decide to go with silk plants, judge carefully how realistic they seem. Artificial plants can be beautiful, but if it is obvious that they are not real, they lose some of their charm. The best compliment an artificial plant can receive is, âI thought it was real!â
Decorating with Artificial Roses
In weddings, using silk or artificial flowers is a popular way to decorate for the occasion. At these events, roses are used more often than any other kind of flower. The use of roses to decorate homes is also greatly on the rise. Not only do silk roses last an extremely long time, but the similarity in appearance to real roses is almost perfect; both of these factors have led to the upswing in usage. If the roses are not well cared for, they will last a few years; if they are, they will stay beautiful for decades. Roses can be displayed in a variety of ways, from a garland wrapped around curtains to a silk rose arrangement for the dining room table. Silk roses are most beautifully displayed when the viewer can look directly at them, so make sure that they can be seen well from any viewpoint when they are placed in a display. Another tip when decorating with silk roses is to add a drop of perfume to the roses from time to time in order to give them a faint pleasant aroma.

They had such an affinity for trees and their beauty that it became common place for a small tree, such as a bonsai, to have a prominent place in the home. Now that tree is used as a decoration in many places, and there are many different styles to choose from.
